So to rectify that heres something new. Its pretty much my definitive website. I’ve been wondering for ages in what context to present my work. Since i do lots of different things and they have different identities (he he i said tities) i couldnt decide wether i should have different sites for poetry and for art and for books but in the end i had the opportunity to create a proper website thet has pictures and links and rss feeds (as soon i work out what they are and how to use them) and everything. So i put it all on the one site. Its not finished yet and is still pretty basic but eventually will ahve as many bells and whistles (as well as usefull stuff…and things).

The details are as follows:

12 noon till midnight: A day of zines, comix, poetry, radical literature, printmaking and anything else self-published! Come along, browse, buy, swap, chat, laugh, drink, eat, for FREE.

6pm onwards: A FREE party of sorts! there’ll be music, DJ’s, spoken word performances and open mic so bring your creative endeavors and come and join in its gonna go off! (in a good way)

Did i mention it was FREE!!!!

Good. Cause it is.

All being well I’ll be selling my comics and greetings cards as well as being available for general chatting and merry making purposes and later on ill be performing some poetry.

And just in case that wasn’t enough heres some flyers to tell you what I’ve already said only prettier.

Theres rumers going round that there’ll be a things to make and do workshop including live screen printing and all sorts of other creative stuff!

Ive been playing open mic nights fairly regularly for about a year now as well as helping to run a one off spoken word night at the Griffin back in July (for the Alternative Press Fair).

The subject of my first book. Evil Steev is a) French b) evil and c) addicted to ice cream. Poor luv!

Poopahsoo! was book number two! that even rhymes dont it? Once she was a queen, now she’s just pissed off and full of telekinetic powers!

My third book was all about these two jokers! Angie San is a scientist and Meekay Robotto is her faithful robot servant. Did i say say faithful servant? I probably meant slightly useless but adorable creation didnt I? Yep I did mean that.

My fourth book entitled ‘Hobo vs Wino’. They weren’t always so scummy, it all gone wrong for them but don’t worry they’ve got a plan.

Its a monthly poetry event at the Green Note in Camden which also a really good folk venue. 

Ive got a five minute slot, the winner is voted for by the audience and will receive a full paid slot the month after so feel free to come down and cheer me on.

Heres a little something to wet your appetite

Peeps

I hate the inebriated peeps

that wander round our city streets

around 2 am or maybe 3

loitering suggestively

they call to me in coded language

whilst eating greasy donner sandwich

formation crouching tells the crew there’s something living on the brew

there’s three or four of em you see

I couldn’t say exactacly

like some lurid ancient race

They lurch,

I run

And they give chase

I extract my phone to call police

I’m tearing down a darkened street

I turn a corner then another

I hear them calling to their brothers

A fearsome shrill their species make

I think as I step over grates

Around phone boxes in between alley

As just behind a monstrous scally

Lunges forward teeth laid bare

An attempt to cap my derrière

But being sober at least from drink

Being not white but pink

I could maneuver out of sight

and twist and turn into the night

but soon I ached my limbs were failing

Muscles seizing power waning

I stop and hear the sounds of silence

And in the distance casual violence

I prick my ear but hear no cry

I looked behind and there I spy

an empty street

devoid of meat

a memory of lunging claws

I recognized the blinding flaw

was I running on my own?

my stalkers caught the next bus home

and as i stood so thought with glee

as I had fleed from revelry

of the worst sort at least for moi

I do not like Stella Artois.

Met alot of cool people bought a couple of comics and read some of my poetry. Also will hopefully be making something new for the anthologie that mr Ghirkin is doing to accompany the press fair and basically show off the small press/ zine/ poetry scene in London and beyond. There’s all kinds of info on the site above if you wanna know more. 

Speaking of poetry im gonna be putting ideas as well as finished poems up here so by all means let me know what you internet types think. All opinions are welcome but unhelpfull ‘thats shit!’ type comments will be noted for your file. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

ahem so without further a do heres some poetry wot I wrote. hope you likey. 

An almost imaginary imagining of A Moment in time

The moment we met was like any other,

but one from which I am still to recover,

first impressions were good

you tick every box,

in short,

you’re a fox.

compliments to the chef

why thank you kind lady,

good impressions continued

and tuned into a maybe,

a familiar feeling is starting to brew

disappointments are usual

successes are few.

a dangerous game you are entertaining

but I do like the look of the neck you are craning,

and later I find myself beside you and saying,

nowt, not a thing, my powers are waning

I find my smokes in your bag with your purse

you apologise profusely and we start to converse,

I listened and talked though more former than latter

and felt myself sinking into idle chatter

this is easy I think or at least easier

she listens to me when I talk to her

and then comes the line that makes me fall flat,

my boyfriend does this my befriend does that

at this my attention is usually sapped

but something was strange in the way I remained

to be uninterested was a skilled that I lacked,

I concluded that something I cannot explain

occurred at that moment in my pink squidgy brain

what’s important I thought besides word to ya mother

some decisions in life are much smarter than others.
